The Silver Lining® PISMO ARM Streaming Server is a high capacity server, designed and built by one of the largest manufacturing companies in the world, which is optimized for large scale cloud service providers and media companies. This 2RU server actually contains 48 ARM-based microservers, interconnected through the integrated 10 Gb switching fabric, and offers high density, scalability, distributed clustering computing, with fault-tolerance/redundancy, and low power.
The PISMO server is configured as follows, and is ideal for static web hosting, distributed storage such as CEPH, and media streaming applications.
- 4 nodes per blade, each with 8 GB DDR3 and 1 Solid State Drive
- 12 blades per 2RU cluster server
- 1 x 10 GbE external ports per cluster server (1 x 10 GbE per blade)
This adds up to amazing density with 192 cores per 2RU cluster server, 3,840 cores per rack, 400 Watts per cluster server, and only 8 KWatts per rack (20 servers).
